Warm Up Section 10.3.11
10.3.11
A biome is a large area characterized by certain traits. Example: Tundra, forest, desert.
10.4.11
A habitat is a home for an organism. An ecosystem is all the living and non-living things interacting in an environment.
10.5.11
2 Long Term Changes: global warming, drought
2 Short Term Changes: earthquake, nuclear bomb
10.11.11
When people began using natural gas instead of coal, the ash and soot decreased. The ash then dissappeared from the trees, and the black moth population decreased. The white moths will then blend in with the trees, and their population will increase.
10.12.11
Everyone depends on the ocean, wether they realize it or not. The algae gives off oxygen that we need to survive. We also need the ocean for fishing so we can get food. Humans impact the ocean by sewer spills and dumping. When the oil tanker in the gulf exploded, oil leeked into the ocean. For these actions, there are many consequences. Sea life is impacted the most, as they live in the tainted water. Not only fish but birds are also affected. They swim in the ocean and eat the diseased fish.
10.13.11
The image of the storms/hurricanes in north America shows that humans depend on the ocean for precipitation.
10.14.11
Fertilizer is usually added to an ocean by a run off. Nitrogen is the main component found in pesticides.
